Geoweb3d presents "What's New in 3D?" at the June Southern Tier NYSGIS Association workshop

Geoweb3d capped off the Southern Tier New York State GIS Association's workshop on 3D with a discussion on "What's New in 3D".

After a day of interesting and informative demonstrations by local GIS users of how they use 3D, Geoweb3d introduced GPU technology and what it can offer to GIS, both today and in the near future.  Specific topics included applications for planning and land management, sources of 3D content, and the importance of the web in relation to both GIS and 3D visualization.  The workshop finished with a demonstration of Geoweb3d Desktop, showing how existing landscape and city datasets can be quickly assembled into a game-quality 3D scene.
